InternshipsAn internship at ManHatPro gives qualified students the opportunity to experience the inner workings of a Midtown Manhattan recording facility, an exclusive community (award winning composers, producers and engineers) and an innovative new business model. ManHatPro is a unique organization and has received considerable attention in the entertainment industry press with recent articles in both Post and Mix Magazines. Some recent projects include: a 4 CD (4.5 hours long) recording of Wagner's Tristan and Isolde, an original score for Cecile B. DeMille's King of Kings (DVD release on Criterion), music for Spike TV, Nickelodeon, and Disney as well as scores for a number of smaller films including a new project from the director of Super Size Me. Composers working in film and TV have very specific modes of music production. An internship at the Alliance is an opportunity for students to learn how professional composers score for film and TV and deliver finished music on demanding schedules with the highest level of production values. Interns must be available at least two days per week 10:00am-6:00pm. Our internships provide experience in two main areas of the music industry:
Music Business and Marketing Support
Studio Production Support
We work in an extremely entrepreneurial and non-hierarchical environment - all members of our organization share in the care and maintenance of our facility. In short, you will definitely be asked to clean a bathroom. As well, if you show us that you are hard working and competent, there are a myriad of higher level tasks that await you: from assisting on production project to helping launch major marketing campaigns.
